Fake Snape #2

Puppet Snape

I was going to use just a normal picture of Snape from Potter Puppet Pals, but I thought this one was better. Although, Ron should be saying "Right-o!"

Now, if you like Harry Potter, I can't even fathom how you could not have heard of Potter Puppet Pals, so I'm not going to explain it. Anyway, Puppet Snape is obviously much different than the real Snape, besides the fact that he's made of felt, and I will discuss this.

You know, the Snape puppet reminds me so much of Squidward. It's both because of the voice and the nose. And when you think about it, the 'bitterness' part of Snape is very much like Squidward, and it's also hilarious. The unibrow is more Squilliam, though. Lol.

Because of Puppet Snape, we now associate Snape with 'Bothering.' Personally, I'm torn between finding it hilarious and very sad. Although Ron and Harry bullying Snape is extremely off-canon, I know they'd love to do it in the books. I always get really sad when I think of Harry and Ron repeatedly pushing Snape into a wall until he loses consciousness, but I also like Bothering my friends. What can I say, it's fun.

Puppet Snape has also given us some of the best quotes ever:

"Do mine ears detect foul-mouthedness?"

"What is that mysterious ticking noise?"

"What is this RUMPUS?"

"Last night I fell asleep in the bathtub, and dreamt that I was riding a thestral through a storm, and each thunderclap resolved into their voices--'Bother, bother.' And then the scene changed, and I was at the Yule Ball with Lily Evans. I asked her to dance. She asked me to die."
----
And lastly, because of Puppet Snape, we have the song Like Snape, which is an AMAZING song.

Fanfiction Friday #37

Since I'm already nearly two days late with this, I admit I rushed in finding a fic, so it's not the best. And I'm tired, so I want to get this post finished quickly. So here's the facts, and not so much more:

It's a Snily one-shot, and is called I am Yours, Always. It's rated M for smut, and is a Romance/Angst. I usually don't like angst, but when paired with Romance, I actually think it's rather good.

Also, in my opinion, the plot doesn't entirely make sense, but it's a good fic if you're just looking for some smut in the shape of Snape/Lily.

I wish the Goblin King would bring me to the one-shot right now... Oh wait, wrong movie. Well, here's the link anyway: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7288048/1/I_am_Yours_Always

Snape Quote of the Week #36

"...cannot afford mistakes, Draco, because if you are expelled--"
"I didn't have anything to do with it, all right?"
I hope you are telling the truth, because it was both clumsy and foolish. Already you suspected of having a hand in it."
"Who suspects me?" said Malfoy angrily. "For the last time, I didn't do it, okay? That Bell girl must have an enemy that no one knows about--don't look at me like that! I know what you're doing, I'm not stupid, but it won't work--I can stop you!"
There was a pause and then Snape said quietly, "Ah... Aunt Bellatrix has been teaching you Occlumency, I see. What thoughts are you trying to conceal from your master, Draco?"
"I'm not trying to conceal anything form him, I just don't want you butting in!"
Harry pressed his ear still more closely against the keyhole.... What had happened to make Malfoy speak to Snape like this--Snape, toward whom he had always shown respect, even liking?
"So that is why you have been avoiding me this term? You have feared my interference? You realize that, had anybody else failed to come to my office when I had told them repeatedly to be there, Draco--"
"So put me in detention! Report me to Dumbledore!"
~Half-Blood Prince, Ch. 15 "The Unbreakable Vow"

That might not be the best place to stop, but I'm tired and don't feel like staying up much longer. Anyway, I think that, after the Spinner's End chapter, this is the hugest scene that really makes you decide your opinion on Snape's loyalty the first time reading the series. It either gave you even more of a concrete reason not to trust him, or made it even more obvious that he was loyal to Dumbledore.

And as for Draco: personally, I don't think Snape ever really liked him. I think Snape would have resented any contact with the Malfoys, since Lucius is the one that presumably suggested him to the Dark Lord, and was also still loyal to Voldemort even after his supposed death. Plus, Draco's a mini James Potter, minus the fact that Harry's the one who looks like James. So I think Snape merely acted as though he liked Draco, because otherwise, it would have been suspicious.

Snape Video of the Week #36

Potions Yesterday - Ministry of Magic

You know how, a while ago, I said that I had done all the Ministry of Magic songs? Well, I realized that I was wrong. Well, this song isn't technically about Snape, and it was actually originally by Draco and the Malfoys, but whatever.

In my opinion, MoM's version of the song is way better. Don't get me wrong, I love DatM and give them major props for writing the song, but their voices just don't work with it. MoM's screamo-ishness works really well, though. And I also love the heavy drum beats... I can't help but playing air-drums whenever I listen to this. It's just so badass.

Weekly Snape-ly Event #36

I suppose this isn't really news, but it is awesome, and it's the best I could do.

Anyway, the upcoming iPhone 4s has been advertising an app called Siri, which will be a voice assistant. Sort of like the voices on GPSes. IBT (International Business Times) released an article of the top 5 voices we'd like to have on Siri, and, you guessed it, Snape is on the list. Here's the link for the article: http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/236768/20111025/apple-siri-recognition-iphone-4s-darth-vader-gps-mary-poppins-severus-snape-jarvis.htm

Honestly, I'm surprised he's only number three. But the explanation made me laugh. Hard.

Snape Picture of the Week #36

I'm posting this picture simply for its epicness. This picture of Snape is just so BADASS, and there's really nothing more to say about it. Oh--and he's really buff in it, too. :3

Fake Snape #1

As you may have noticed, I've gotten through another seven weeks, and that means that I start something new for Saturdays. Well, I decided that I'm going to do 'fake Snapes,' in which I talk about versions of Snape besides the book and movie Snape. These Snapes could be from parodies, cosplays, etc.

This week, I'm doing AVPM/S Snape.

It's sort of the obvious choice, but whatever. For those of you that have been living under a rock, I'm referring to A Very Potter Musical (and Sequel), and if you haven't seen it, then none of this will make sense to you. AVPM is probably one of the biggest parts of the HP fandom, so you MUST watch it. Here's Act 1, Part 1 in case you haven't: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmwM_AKeMCk

Anyway, down to business.

In AVPM, Snape is portrayed by Joe Moses, who, in my opinion, is not very attractive without the Snape costume on. His voice is normally high-pitched, but he has an excellent (and hilarious) Snape impression. His accent when he's being Snape is also a bit exaggerated, but it's still awesome.

Joe Moses also has a thing called The Potion's Master's Corner, which he does on his Youtube channel. He's interviewed the other Starkids, and has done it all in his Snape costume, and hilariously.

This is the best picture I could find of him, and this all from episodes of TPMS:

The AVPM version of Snape is also ridiculously out of character sometimes, but it is a parody. Because of him, we now associate several quotes with Snape that we wouldn't otherwise:

"What the DEVIL is going on HERRRRRREEEEEEEE?"

"Sit down, you inarticulate bumble."

"I'll be in the drawing room... painting the stupid looks on your faces."
-----------

I could go on, but I don't feel like it. Anyway, even though it's a musical, Snape hardly gets any time to sing. It's disappointing, really. He obviously participates in the group songs like the end reprise of Going Back To Hogwarts and Days of Summer in AVPS, but the only song he really gets is Guys Like Potter. And it's a rather sad song, as funny as they try to make it.

What's also sad is that AVPS did the Snape's Worst Memory scene more accurately than the film adaptation of OotP did. -_-

Well, I have nothing else to say, except that I'm going to bed.
