Weekly Snape-ly Event #12

For some reason, The Washington Times did an article about Snape. Who am I to complain?

It talks all about his all-consuming, obsessive, unrequited love for Lily, and how it was one of the main things protecting Harry all those years, and led to him dying a hated and bitter man.

While some may call it 'obsessive', I don't like to think of his love for Lily like that. I mean, they became best friends at a very young age, and she was his only friend. I don't think Snape ever truly liked anyone else. Even his Slytherin friends- He didn't really like them. It was the closest thing to friendship he could have besides Lily, because there's no way he ever told them anything personal. And with that being said, it wasn't too difficult for him to fall so deply in love with her that he could never fall out. He wasn't being 'obsessive', he was being loyal. He truly cared about her, even if he was a little selfish. I never understood the whole 'love them so much you just want them to be happy' thing, myself. But either way, even after she stopped being friends with him, he still loved her and remained loyal. Even after she married James and had a baby with them, he was still loyal.

And as for 'unrequited', I refuse to believe that Lily never had feelings for Severus. Why else would she stay friends with him for so long, even after he started getting really interested in the Dark Arts? Snape never told her how much he loved her because he was insecure, and was afraid she'd say no. Lily was probably afraid of the same thing. And I think part of Snape knew she loved him back, even if he was scared to admit it. But after he called her that word, Lily must have been too angry and humiliated to carry on. It was her pride that kept her from forgiving him. Plus, I think that at that moment, she decided he must have not loved her back. If he had only told her...

But back to the article. It also talks about the Bloody Baron and his unrequited love, but I'm not going into detail. You can read the full article here.

Snape Picture of the Week #12

I thought I'd do a sexy today. You've probably seen it before, but I doubt you get tired of looking at it. It's just so... *faints*

This is really well-photoshopped, because I can hardly tell. Every time I look at it, I'm just screaming in my head, "Move the towel just a bit lower..."

There's also a version of the pic where he's completely naked, but I didn't think I should put that here...

It's this online shop called Mud In My Blood, and it's all Harry Potter stuff! :D There's a lot of buttons with HP and AVPM references, as well as posters, wands, etc.

I really want this poster.

They have other Snape stuff, too. I siriusly need to get some of their stuff... or all of their stuff. It's pretty awesome.

They have a facebook page too, go like it!

Fanfiction Friday #12

This is one of the lucky days where I happened upon a good Snape fic before I even started looking for one... Speaking of which, I recently found out about My Immortal. If you don't know what that is, it's literally THE worst fanfiction ever written. The people are so OOC it's hilarious.

Anyway, the story I found today is called A Severus Snape Christmas Carol, and it's basically a parody of the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but with Snape as Scrooge. I can't believe that no one's done this before, because it fits so well.

It's somewhat off-canon, but that doesn't really matter, since it's supposed to be a humor fic. Everyone's completely IC, except Ginny. But she's only a tiny bit off.

It's only one chapter, but it's a long chapter. I really recommend it, and you should probably save it to your favorites so you can read it around Christmastime. ^_^

Snape Quote of the Week #11

"You don't want me as your enemy, Quirrell," said Snape, taking a step towards him.
"I-I don't know what you--"
"You know perfectly well what I mean."
"An owl hooted loudly, and Harry nearly fell out of the tree. He steadied himself in time to hear Snape say, "--your little bit of hocus-pocus. I'm waiting."
"B-But I d-d-don't--"
"Very well," Snape cut in. "We'll have another little chat soon, when you've had time to think things over and decided where your loyalties lie."

That was from the Sorcerer's Stone, after the Quidditch match that Snape refereed.

It sucks that they had to change the scene to being in the library for the movie, because I think the fact that it's in the Forbidden Forest really sets the mood. But I still get chills whenever I hear Snape say, "You don't want me as your enemy, Quirrell..." His voice just does that to you.

I realized that if that damn owl hadn't hooted, Harry would have known that Snape was actually trying to protect him, and that he should have been hating Quirrell instead. He might have even liked Snape from then on... But he didn't. Because the stupid owl hooted. I want to take a Time-Turner to go back to a few minutes before that happened, and Avada Kedavra that owl.

If you read my fanfiction (And if you haven't, the link is right here.), then you'll have seen this, but this is what I think Harry would have heard Snape say if it weren't for the owl:

You know perfectly well what I mean. All the teachers are supposed to protect the Stone. And Dumbledore trusted all of us, but he’s crackers− trusts too easily. Even little tossers like you. But I want to know what the hell you were playing at the last Quidditch match. Yes, I know about your little bit of hocus-pocus. I’m waiting.

I imagine Quirrell must have been pissing his pants at this point, because Snape can be pretty freaking scary. But it's sexy scary.

Snape Video of the Week #11

Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer

I'm sure you've all seen it, but I had to put it up here. There's actually a lot more Snape than I'd have expected. Even aside from Snape, this is the most epic thing I've ever seen.

At the beginning, when they have the HP Theme slowed down and in sync with the clips-- THAT was just sad. And I'm not sure why. But seeing Snape's face when he's walking to Lily's House in Godric's Hollow is just... really sad. I nearly cried at the clip from the Prince's Tale too, when young Lily is making the flower petals grow in her hand. Anyone who saw the trailer and hasn't read the books must have been really confused. Now that I think about it, I doubt the people that only watch the movies understand half of what's going on.

The dragon was so. Freaking. Awesome. I want to ride on that dragon. I can tell that even if they don't get that scene completely right, it's going to be one of the most mind-blowing things you've ever seen.

Okay, the Fiendfyre looked pretty badass too. I hope they stick to the book as perfectly as possible for that scene, because when they're flying out, it says that Draco is screaming and holding on so tightly to Harry that it hurt. I'm looking forward to that Drarry moment. Plus, I know the guy who played Crabbe was arrested for smoking Pot or something like that, so Draco is going to enter the Room of Requirement with Goyle and Blaise instead. I wonder if they'll have Blaise die, or just ignore it. That really irks me, because I really wanted to see Draco start crying over Crabbe.

Molly and Bellatrix= AWESOME. That is definitely going to be one of my favorite scenes. And even though I didn't cry for him the multiple times I've read the book, I'm pretty sure I'll be sobbing for Fred when he dies. Same with Tonks and Lupin.

When I watched the trailer for the first time and saw Snape Disapparating, I couldn't breathe. In my mind, I was screaming, That was the sexiest thing EVER! But then I got a little upset, because it means he won't be jumping out the window. They better still have the fight between Snape, the other teachers, and the suits of armor.

One more thing- Harry pulling Voldemort off the tower... That wasn't in the book, but I have a feeling it'll be one of the better changes. I'm not sure how they'll survive a fall like that, though... Also, am I the only one that thought it looked like they were about to make out?
